Classes begin at 7:30 am and end at 2:10 pm.  
Tuesdays - 
Classes begin at 7:30 am and end at 12:15 pm with special student activities until 1:20 pm and staff professional development.

IMPORTANT NOTICES:


QCS wishes you the spirit, peace, and joy of the Ramadan season, a time for family, friends, and the greater community.

RAMADAN - This is to begin on Monday, June 6th, 2016.  The school hours will be from 7:30 am until 12:15 pm.


YEARBOOKS - The 2015-2016 yearbook is finished and the cost is 150QR given its length of 225 pages.  The money must be in before publishing will begin.  These monies are due in Thursday.  Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. 

 

2016-2017 CALENDAR - Small changes will be made to the calendar recently sent out.  A new edition with explanations will be emailed out within the week.  Thank you for patience in being sure that dates meet the approvals of all governing bodies. 


NEW REGISTRATIONS - We continue to process new registrations

 for our upcoming academic year, fall 2016 through 2017,  in doing so you should as an applicant fill out the online form under our ADMISSIONS tab.




LITERACY RESOURCE - Alberta Education forwarded QCS a link for Schools and Parents that many centres and families in Canada are now using.  We thought we would pass it along:  https://www.getepic.com 


PAC Chair was voted in an the Annual General Meeting - Shelly Kelly from the CNAQ.  There will be a meeting in the fall of 2016 to determine the associated chair positions as an agreement between the Principal and the new Chair (due to the late hour). We will keep you informed of this time and date.  Thank you to everyone for coming out and defining a transition into the next academic year.


PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TESTS (PAT's) - will be given to the Grade 6 and Grade 9 classes.  These core standardized subject specific exams are for Social Studies, English Language Arts, Science, and Mathematics.  Their dates are mandated by Alberta Education and will be sent out with the QCS Exam Schedule this week.  


GRADE SIX ORIENTATION MEETING - The administration met with the Grade 6 students to help each student understand their new transition into Junior High School last Wednesday, June 1st, 2016.  Parents are welcome.

                              

TIM HORTON'S – We thank this company for their great service to our school.  
With Ramadan in June, these delivered lunches will not be possible, however, we will welcome them back in the fall of 2016!

GRAD AND AWARD Photos - The photographers were at the evening event for the QCS Graduation and High School Awards.  
Digital copies of photos for preview will be available shortly, and can be ordered thereafter.  It was a great evening!
  



DOT DAYS for QCS

In celebration of our 10th year of the QCS being open we will have a DOT DAY each month.
